Symptoms of vaginal candidiasis
Vaginal candidiasis ("thrush") is characterized by abundant or moderate cheesy, cream-like discharge from the genital tract, sometimes plaques on the walls of the vagina or on the external genitalia. It is accompanied by such symptoms as itching, burning, irritation in the area of the external genitalia. During sleep, after water treatments, sexual intercourse, the itch intensifies, an unpleasant smell appears. Repeated episodes of the disease, "exacerbations", especially before childbirth, are quite common. During pregnancy, the probability of occurrence increases 2-3 times.
Causes of vaginal candidiasis
The cause of vaginal candidiasis is a fungus of the genus Candida albicans. The so-called "thrush" is mainly transmitted sexually. The disease is often associated with violations of the vaginal microflora, which occur due to:
- uncontrolled use of drugs, primarily antibiotics, "self-medication", improper nutrition, frequent stress;
- the increase in the number of immunodeficiency states, which is observed against the background of worsening environmental conditions.
Milk thistle is a frequent cause of the development of inflammatory diseases of the female genital organs. Infection of sexual partners is possible, the infection can be transmitted to the child during pregnancy and childbirth.
